01 Introduction
FlickReply is an AI-powered keyboard available on iOS and Android, with a companion Chrome extension for desktop browsers. On iOS, FlickReply provides on-device typing prediction and autocorrect through a custom keyboard extension, alongside the optional AI writing assistance described below. On Android, FlickReply is a full keyboard (Input Method Editor) with a keyboard tools panel, clipboard history, emoji, text editing and share tools, keyboard resize, one-handed mode, floating keyboard, and privacy mode.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when you use FlickReply and its AI features, on iOS, Android or in the Chrome extension. Section 2 covers what applies to both platforms, section 3 covers iOS specifically, and section 4 covers Android specifically.
02 Information Common to Android and iOS
Some FlickReply features require an account. When you create one, we collect your email address, and, if you choose to provide them, your first name, gender, and phone number.
- Sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your email. FlickReply does not use passwords.
- A session token is stored securely on your device to keep you signed in.
- You can view and update your account details from Profile / Account settings in the app.
- Because FlickReply works as a keyboard, it receives the text you type so it can provide normal keyboard functionality. Typing input is used to enter text into the active app, follows your local keyboard and device settings, and is not used for advertising or tracking.
- AI features (AI replies, reply tone changes, text refinement, and rewriting selected text) are optional and user-triggered. Text is sent for AI processing only when you actively use an AI action, and may include selected text, text in the active input field, or context needed to generate a useful reply. Standard keyboard typing can still be used without AI features.
- The Refine feature improves text already present in the active input field, and works the same way on iOS and Android: if text is selected, FlickReply may send that selected text for refinement; if not, it may use the current field text. When you choose a refined version, it replaces the original selected text or field text.
- You can adjust keyboard settings and stop using AI tools at any time.
03 iOS
FlickReply's iOS app is a native app with a custom iOS keyboard extension. This section describes what is specific to iOS; everything in section 2 above also applies.
- Sign-in on iOS uses your email address and a one-time code, as described in section 2.
- Typing: FlickReply provides typing through a custom iOS keyboard extension. Word prediction and autocorrect happen entirely on your device. iOS itself restricts custom keyboards like FlickReply's in secure or password-style fields, independent of anything FlickReply does.
- AI features: FlickReply's AI features on iOS can only access the text in the active input field or your current selection. iOS does not provide accessibility-service-style access to on-screen content, so broader on-screen context reading is not available on iOS.
- Chat import: the FlickReply app (not the keyboard extension) includes an optional chat-import tool. You choose a screenshot using iOS's own photo picker, and FlickReply extracts the text from it entirely on your device using Apple's on-device text-recognition technology. The image itself is never uploaded automatically. The extracted text is placed on your clipboard for you to paste and edit; if you then use an AI feature on that pasted text, it is sent for AI processing the same way any other typed text is.
- Permissions: you can manage keyboard Full Access and other permissions from iOS Settings. Full Access is used so the keyboard can connect to the internet for AI features.
- Account deletion: you can request deletion of your account and associated data directly within the iOS app (Profile → Account → Delete Account), which schedules permanent deletion 48 hours later and can be cancelled from the same screen any time before then. The account deletion page remains available as an alternative if you cannot access the app.
04 Android
FlickReply's Android app is a full keyboard (Input Method Editor). This section describes what is specific to Android; everything in section 2 above also applies.
- Sign-in: in addition to email and OTP, sign-in is also available through Google Sign-In. FlickReply's Android app does not use Firebase Authentication; your Google identity is verified directly with our backend.
- Typing: password-style and sensitive input fields are handled according to Android keyboard limitations and field behavior.
- AI features — screen-aware conversation reading (Android only): on-screen conversation context may be read using Android's Accessibility service, where enabled, to generate more relevant replies. This capability does not exist on iOS — see section 3.
- Keyboard tools: FlickReply includes keyboard tools that may interact with Android system features. Clipboard history helps you reuse copied text from inside the keyboard. Text editing and share tools act on the text in the active input field. Keyboard resize, one-handed mode, floating keyboard, and other preferences are stored locally on your device.
- Privacy mode: helps prevent the keyboard from keeping typed history during private sessions.
- Permissions: you can manage permissions from your device settings.
- Account deletion: you can request deletion of your account and associated data from the account deletion page.
05 AI Processing
AI processing is temporary and request-based: text you submit for an AI action (reply, tone change, refinement, or rewrite) is sent for processing only when you trigger that action, used to generate the requested output, and is not stored on our servers beyond what is needed to complete that request. This applies the same way on iOS and Android.
06 Data Storage and Retention
FlickReply is designed to avoid unnecessary retention of message content.
- We do not sell your typing content.
- Account, billing, support, quota, diagnostic, or abuse-prevention records may be retained where required to operate the service or comply with law.
07 Third-Party Services
FlickReply may use third-party providers for AI processing, app distribution, payments, analytics, and supporting infrastructure. When third-party services process information, their own terms and privacy policies may also apply.
- iOS: FlickReply's iOS app uses RevenueCat for subscription management, with payment handled entirely by Apple's App Store. FlickReply's iOS app does not use Firebase or any other analytics service.
- Android: FlickReply's Android app uses Firebase (Analytics and Cloud Messaging for push notifications), Google Play Billing, and RevenueCat for subscription management.
08 Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by FlickReply, including secure transmission where network processing is required.
No app, network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
09 Children's Privacy
FlickReply is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10 Account Deletion
FlickReply users on Android and iOS can request account deletion. On iOS, you can request deletion directly within the app; the account deletion page is an alternative channel for anyone who cannot access the app (see section 3).
11 Chrome Extension
The FlickReply Chrome extension brings Polish and AI reply suggestions to text boxes in your desktop browser. It uses the same FlickReply account and the same backend as the mobile apps. Signing in on the extension signs you in to the same profile, not a separate one.
- User-triggered only: text is sent for AI processing only when you click the FlickReply button, use a keyboard shortcut, or use the right-click menu. The extension does not capture text in the background and does not intercept what you type.
- Polish: the text in the focused field, or the part you have selected, is sent to be rewritten. Password fields are never read.
- Reply suggestions: on supported messaging sites (WhatsApp Web, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Gmail), asking for a reply sends the most recent visible messages of the conversation on screen and the name of the person you are chatting with (on Gmail, the sender's name or email address). On other sites, only the note you type is used. The extension sends an identifier for the supported site rather than the web address, so your browsing history is not transmitted.
- Account: you sign in with an emailed one-time code or with Google. After signing in, the extension may ask for your first name if your account does not have one. This is optional and you can skip it. Your session token and preferences (tone and language) are stored on your device in the browser's extension storage.
- Clipboard history: off unless you switch it on. When on, your last 25 copied items are stored on your device only, cleared after 7 days, and never sent to our servers.
- Privacy mode: one switch pauses every AI feature and clipboard capture on every site. It is checked before any page text is read.
- Network: the extension contacts only FlickReply's own servers. It has no analytics or advertising code, does not sell your data, and does not run remotely hosted code.
You can remove the extension at any time from your browser. To delete your account and associated data, use the account deletion page.
12 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will show a revised effective date.
